Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of vanilla cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup pink or blue food coloring (depending on gender)
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (for melting the chocolate)
  • Sprinkles for decoration
  • 12 lollipop sticks

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  • Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to the package instructions, adding butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Once the batter is well mixed, divide it into two bowls. Add pink or blue food coloring to one of the bowls to create a gender-specific color.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and swirl the colored batter together using a toothpick or knife for a marble effect.
  • Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely before crumbling it into small pieces.
  • Once the cake is crumbled, place the pieces into a large bowl and mix with a small amount of frosting (about 1/4 cup) to bind the cake crumbs together.
  • Roll the cake mixture into small balls, about 1-inch in diameter, and insert a lollipop stick into each cake pop.
  • Melt the white chocolate chips and coconut oil together in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  • Dip each cake pop into the melted white chocolate, coating it completely. Add sprinkles for extra decoration.
  • Place the cake pops on a parchment-lined baking sheet to harden. Allow them to set for about 15-20 minutes.
